This second album is similar to the first, but it has a more professional sound and although it still consists primarily of folk songs with a few original pieces , there is a cover song thrown into the mix. For example, this album starts off with a celtic version of an old 80s song that was originally done by a band named Slade. This opening track entitled, Run Runaway, has an upbeat sound that was created using a tin whistle, a bodhran, and a fiddle. It is quite different than the original synthesized and typical 80s sound that Slade had created.
The most common folk songs on this album are Lukey, Rant and Roar, Mari -Mac, and Jolly Butcher. These arrangements are well done and are appealing to people of all ages and to those who love all musical genres. This album was a much greater success for Great Big Sea, and most people consider it to be their first real album. Due to its success, Great Big Sea had started to become popular and a fan base was created.
